About
Lost a great innocence when I understood that I and my mind were not going to be on good terms for the rest of my life. I can’t tell you how tired I am of character-building experiences. But I treasure this part of me; whoever loves me loves me with this in it. – Author: Kay Redfield Jamison
About the Artist
Eyitayo Alagbe is a self-taught visual artist who holds a National Certificate of Education in Fine Art. His unbridled passion for art started while he was a child and it has been all he ever desired since then. Eyitayo creates a new pathway that defines a cutting-edge reality in the arts. His figurative expressionist work communicates black beauty, power, and meditation. He uses charcoal, pencil, and acrylic on canvas and paper to express his passion for the universe by making figures and conceptual portraiture in mixed media paintings. He develops art from a place of confidence that does not rely on the approval of white art patrons. Eyitayo's paintings have been exhibited at both national and international Galleries. His works reside in several private collections in Nigeria, Labella Collections Mexico, and The United States. They have also been featured on television, Topfat art gallery, Arnheim Art Gallery, Arnhem Collections art exhibition, Ibadan bridal fashion exhibition, and multiple restaurants and bars across the continent of Africa.
